Conquest Overhaul
Territory that changes hands through war.
Overview
Factions win and lose territory by fighting. You capture waypoints one by one, and a territory only flips when a faction holds most of its waypoints. The map repaints as the war moves, and conquered land changes what spawns there, using the LOTR Mod's own spawn system.

What it does
- Capture waypoints one at a time: a waypoint flips once your influence crosses the threshold, roughly twenty kills
- A territory changes owner only when you hold the majority of its waypoints and enough total influence, then the rest fall as mop-up
- Conquest-driven spawning: territory ownership and influence feed LOTRBiomeSpawnList weights, so the conqueror's NPCs patrol and populate land they were never authored to spawn in
- Territory overlay baked once into a GL texture off-thread and drawn as a single quad, so panning and zooming cost nothing until ownership changes
- Balanced population pools: every territory gets the same strength pool, split by each faction's share of the contest; unconquerable lands like Utumno stand outside it entirely
- Invasions arrive on their own to move fronts, or deliberately with /co invade; hosts never stack and respect a server-wide ceiling
- Faction leadership by election or single-elimination tournament in the duel arena, with diplomats and private council channels
- Anti-exploit rules: ambient kills earn nothing, AFK earns nothing, killing allies earns nothing, and invasions cannot be stacked
Install
- Install Forge, the LOTR Mod and LotrGuiLib.
- Drop the built ConquestOverhaulMod.jar into mods/.
- Launch once to generate config/lotrconqoverhaul.cfg, then tune. The mod force-enables LOTR's native conquest flag, which is required for conquest-driven spawning.
