Overview

Khazad-dûm belongs to the goblins now. Moria gets a full faction in the LOTR Mod, with alignment ranks, units you can hire, trades, quests, achievements, invasions and speech. It also adds the gear the goblins make for themselves and the forge they make it in.

What it does

Nine hireable units with their own trades and speech, from Goblin and Archer to Chieftain, Banner Bearer, Miner, Scrapper and Scrounger, plus the Cave Troll, which is not a goblin and does not pretend to be
Warriors and chieftains draw from the full Moria rack rather than all carrying the same axe; rank-and-file goblins carry a knife, occasionally a poisoned one
The Tunneller: point it at an item frame holding a pickaxe and it digs a hundred-block shaft, hauls the spoil to a nearby chest, swaps tools when the rock changes, floors gaps behind itself and seals water
A weathered armour set and weapon line, battleaxe, warhammer, spear, pike, cleaver, dagger and poisoned variant, bow and tools, with a mithril-trimmed tier
Rough work: about one piece in five comes off the table with a quality flaw already on it
Goblin Crafting Table and Goblin Forge, which smelts iron and coal into Goblin Crude Steel, with recipes shown in NEI
Faction ranks, alignment control zones at Goblin-Town and Erebor, mini-quests, seven achievements, three titles, a shield, a banner and an invasion wave with its own warhorn

Install

Drop MoriaGoblins-1.5.jar into .minecraft/mods next to the LOTR Mod jar.
Search @moriagoblins in NEI to see everything the mod adds in one place.
Building from source needs JDK 8, the 1.7.10 toolchain and ASM bytecode checks depend on Java 8 class structures.
